CIS

How We Do It

CIS is a well established and widely respected producer of primary intelligence and analysis. Our projects commonly start where our clients’ internal analysis of published (secondary) sources finishes. The key components of the service we offer are:

  • Converting intelligence topics defined by the client into questions
that respondents will be prepared to answer
  • Developing an ethical methodology that can be successfully
        applied
  • Identifying and targeting respondents
  • Elicitation/interviewing
  • CI analysis
  • Presentation of findings

Interviews are carried out by telephone and in person during on-site visits or (more normally) during conferences. When appropriate, observational techniques are also utilized. All intelligence gathering is coordinated by a project manager who maintains regular client communication, provides key updates and presents all findings. Other than in exceptional circumstances, all intelligence is collected by our full time staff. The centralization of our intelligence gathering maximizes quality control throughout projects and enables us to maintain a high level of confidentiality.

Primary intelligence gathering is undertaken by all members of the project team. We believe that to fully understand the nuances associated with the findings, the entire team, including the Account Director and the Project Manager, must be involved in all stages of intelligence collection, analysis and interpretation. Senior staff activities are not therefore confined to analyzing, presenting and project managing.
